Dollco Reduces Network Operations Costs with IntelliSyn Virtual Network Solution
Ottawa, Ontario — July 5, 2011: Dollco Integrated Print Solutions, one of Canada’s largest privately-owned printing companies, has revamped its information technology network with an integrated virtual network solution from IntelliSyn, a Managed Service Provider (MSP) that offers reliable and innovative managed IT infrastructure services.
The IntelliSyn solution replaces Dollco’s legacy network hardware with a more efficient, high availability, fully redundant virtual network environment. It is configured to support existing applications and services, enable easier network management, and provide the flexibility for future expansion.
“We wanted a solution that would consolidate our network resources, deliver higher performance, improve redundancy, and provide more storage capacity,” said Ian Calder, Director of Information Technology. “At the same time, we wanted to make sure the new network would be less costly to operate and allow us to keep up with the pace of hardware and software evolution without continuously disrupting our business operations. IntelliSyn was able to provide us with a solution optimized and tailored for our needs.”
IntelliSyn designed, configured, tested and delivered a network solution that leverages cloud computing to virtualize Dollco’s network operating environment and use less physical hardware. The IntelliSyn solution replaces Dollco’s network of 29 servers with two high-capacity, Dell Computer systems, which provide the link to centralized data, applications and services in a cloud computing environment managed by IntelliSyn. The fully redundant virtual network simplifies network management, backup, and restoration, and reduces Dollco’s network operating expenditures.
“We had worked with IntelliSyn in the past and had always been impressed by their attention to detail,” said Ian Calder. “The virtual network they delivered hit all the marks and was introduced without any interruptions to our operations. It has reduced our network space requirements by approximately 50 percent and we expect to see savings of approximately 20 percent in our power, air conditioning and overall network operating expenditures. But what impressed us most was the one-stop-shop approach. Other vendors were willing to sell us the piece parts, but they were not able or willing to go that extra step to provide the full integration we needed to get our network up and running. IntelliSyn was able to do that by working as an extension of our in-house IT team that we could trust and rely on to take us through the process.”
