Isherwood Streamlines Network Support and Improves Productivity with IntelliSyn Fully Managed IT Solution
Ottawa, Ontario — September 27, 2011: A fully managed IntelliSyn Information Technology (IT) solution has reduced network support requirements and created a more productive working environment at Isherwood, a Toronto-based geostructural engineering firm.
With more than 35 employees and a variety of office and mobile IT networking requirements, Isherwood needed a customized network that would support its unique application needs on all desktops and mobile workstations. IntelliSyn, a Managed Service Provider (MSP) that offers reliable and innovative managed IT infrastructure services, provided an integrated IT solution to replace the disparate hardware Isherwood had adopted during five years of rapid growth.
“Our network infrastructure had reached the point where it was no longer efficient,” said Nikolina Ivankovic, Manager, Information Technology. “We had aging computers from a variety of manufacturers, each with different hardware configurations. So we wanted a more integrated hardware and software environment that would improve workflow for employees in the office and in the field, and would be easier to manage and support. IntelliSyn was able to provide the complete solution.”
IntelliSyn worked with Isherwood to define the hardware and software requirements, select a common platform and a single vendor for all elements, and create a standard operating environment.
“Plus, the IntelliSyn team managed the change process to minimize any potential disruptions,” said Nikolina Ivankovic. “They purchased the hardware, tested it, and made the initial base configurations. Then they worked with us on site to configure each unit with the specific software related to the type of work we do. This made it easier for us to manage the final configuration and deployment. It saved us a lot of time and eliminated the potential for major problems after deployment. Plus, by standardizing workstation hardware and software, we have reduced our support requirements. It is easier to create backups and restore workstations if something goes wrong. New deployment and refresh efforts are easier and less time consuming, and we have only one vendor to deal with for hardware support.
